$1 Billion—for Billion of Miracles!

We did it! Thanks to our dedicated and enthusiastic Walmart Supercenter, Neighborhood Market, and Sam’s Club teams over $210,000 was raised for Children’s Hospital at Erlanger through the September CMN Hospitals Miracle Campaign. But the excitement and impact doesn’t stop there. This year Walmart teams across North America raised over $30 million for local  CMN Hospitals—which means Walmart teams have raised over $1 billion for CMN Hospitals since 1987! That’s right—$1 BILLION!

“Research done by Engage for Good shows that the cumulative $1 billion in cash raised for CMN Hospitals over the years by Walmart and Sam’s Club represents the largest amount ever raised for a nonprofit by one company in North America,” said David Hessekiel, president of Engage for Good, a trade group that tracks cross-sector efforts to generate positive social and business impacts.

This milestone would not have been possible without strong community support from customers, associates, and local businesses who gave it their all supporting campaign efforts. From personalized Miracle Saturday experiences for patient families (complete with official Walmart attire!), to collaborative community events, in-store employee events, and personal associate impact stories our teams never hesitated to coordinate creative fundraising experiences– leading to life-saving care for the hundreds of thousands of families who will enter our doors this year.

Thank you Walmart teams for allowing us to continue to provide world-class pediatric healthcare to our local Chattanooga community now…and for generations to come!
